Annual National History Day Competition
History is an important part of the curriculum at Sacred Hearts School. Two-time "History Teacher of the Year" award winner Patty Wurst passes this passion for history on to all of her students.
Wurst summed up her feelings by saying, "History helps us keep our humanity. How can you know where you're going if you don't know where you've been?" Every year, our students participate in a nationwide competition. We are proud of our keiki as each year our students advance to the state competition in Oahu and then the national competition on the Mainland. Many of our graduates carry on participating at the high school level. As Mrs. Wurst tells us, once students get the "history bug," they never lose their passion for it. |
