1. Discuss "Rock Cycle Lab" what did we learn or what could we learn.
--Weathering: Crush the sugar cube
--Erosion: Move the crushed rock into the spoon
--Heat/Melting: Spoon over the candle flame until it melts.
--Cooling: Set the melted sugar aside for several minutes.
--Weathering: Break the new, igneous rock into pieces.
2. Then we will take our Rock Quiz using Interactives Rock Cycle Website. Read through and do all the activities in the following sections: introduction, Types of Rocks, How Rocks Change, and the Rock Cycle Diagram. You are welcome to take as many notes from here to use on your quiz. When you are ready, take the quiz on the "Test your skills" tab. Turn in your notes with the total number correct out of 15 questions at the top of your paper. GOOD LUCK!
3. When you finish your quiz, click on the Sand hunt lab document below and copy it onto a piece of white paper. Then using your sand sample, sort out your sand. You can glue a few pieces on or just sort it out. Then dispose of the rest of the sand in the trash can with a trash bag and return the container you borrowed.
